I am a watercolor, mixed media and collage artist who loves spending time in nature to find sparks of inspiration, which I joyfully impress into each canvas through free expression. When creating an artwork, I think of images from my childhood…perhaps a flotilla of handsome sea turtles, or waddle of penguins from the New England Aquarium I went to as a child, or even a flower I’ve pinched and added to a bouquet on the kitchen counter. I love wet-in-wet techniques and am happiest when splashing, puddling, dripping, irrigating, or lifting my pigments. Sometimes, I don’t know the full extent of what I have created until after I peel back and reveal a layer that has been pressed and dried overnight.
