Annette Laracuente

​Annette was born and raised in Kansas and worked in Pennsylvania until retiring and moving to New Bern in 2020. On one of her first walks around her new neighborhood, she was amazed to discover impressively long needles from the local longleaf pine trees. She decided then and there to try her hand at the ancient craft of pine needle basketry, using traditional methods as well as modern touches and unique designs to make vessels for both utility and beauty.
