Heya!
Thanks for taking precious time to read this and supporting ART!
Here's the Big Fat Deal...
I've written or read a bazillion artist statements/bios and it can become a bit sleep inducing after 5 decades. But, I agreed to the guidelines and have completed my homework.
They call me "Christina Anderson", because, I am.
I make art stuff from other stuff. Most of The Stuff is old, ephemeral, not highly collectible, and has pretty much come to the end of it's existence.
The "Idea Circus" in my brain likes to mix all this junk along with newer materials into a freshly realized tale. Inspiration arrives via nostalgia, other arts, history, pop culture, or folks' related rememberances.
Techniques I employ for these works are mostly cold connections, using very little adhesives. Currently, I have relied on my sewing knowledge to hold stuff together. Yup, I stitch things together that probably have no business being fastened with thread!
When completed art stuff gets to "go to the party" I'm delighted and honored to share these re-fable-ings to new viewers. I treasure the Individual's interpretation and inspiration, because, mine is not the only story to be told!
Eternally Grateful,
Mrs. A
