Marsha Laird is a pottery artist based in New Bern, North Carolina. Primarily producing functional pottery, her style leans more towards organic nature in form and aesthetics. Thirty years ago, while seeking a time filling activity, Marsha found a hobby pottery class at a local community college in Asheville, NC. She has since continued to hone her craft, self-taught. Currently, she is the founder and mentor of at The Unbroken Potter a local studio in New Bern. She teaches basic pottery skills and offers classes to others who have suffered trauma or are in recovery from substance and alcohol abuse. This is the heart work of her life. In the past, Marsha's work has been shown and sold in the local Community Artist Gallery and Eastern Carolina Pottery Festival. She instills in each piece a sense of familiarity and belonging. Currently, her work can be seen at her studio in New Bern.
