Martha Williams
Martha Williams has studied and taught art off and on for many years. She began her career in 1970 in Atlanta as a commercial interior designer and moved from there to Charlotte, NC and Anderson SC where she began her career as a teacher. Martha and her family moved to New Bern, NC in 1979 and in 1989 received her Masters in Art Education from East Carolina University. While studying at ECU she began teaching at Craven Community College. Martha was also involved in the selling of art through New Bern Art Works and Fine Art at Baxters. She is currently part of Lace Leaf Artists Studios which has eleven artist studios. Martha describes her reasons for painting as follows: "I love color. I love texture. I love nature. I love what paint does when I play with it. My goal is always to express, in some way, God's beautiful Creation."
