2025 New Bern Artist Studio Tour
Terms and Conditions
By registering for the 2025, the Artist agrees to the following Terms and Conditions:
Location: The Artist agrees to have their studio location open to the public during the hours of the tour (10am-4pm, Saturday, November 8, 2025). Artists may elect to participate in Sunday, November 8, 2025, 12pm-3pm tour date.
*Artist Studio Space must be located within New Bern, Trent Woods, James City, or Riverbend. There must be clear and safe access to the studio for the public.
*Artists in the Harrison Center or hosted in another studio space agree have their space set up and open for the duration of the tour, as outlined above.
Sales: Participating artists may display art for sale. No commission will be taken by Tour organizers. All costs and taxes incurred by sale of art will be the responsibility of the individual artist. Participation requires that all artists adhere to and abide by all rules, regulations and laws governing Craven County and the State of North Carolina.
Registration and Information: The Artist will submit their information for the booklet and marketing by 11:50pm, August 31st, 2025, via the digital form provided by Craven Arts Council & Gallery. This form will be emailed to the artist after their completion of the Registration form at www.newbernartists.com. Each artist is responsible for proofing the online and printed information about themselves, their location and their work by the stated deadline. NBST is not responsible for errors or omissions.
Withdraw: Registered artists who cannot participate in the tour must cancel their participation, in writing, by July 31, 2025. Artist wishing to cancel after this date will not receive a refund of their registration fee, and understand that their information may still be included in the 2025 NBST guide and other marketing information.
Artwork Image Use: When registering, artists submitting images representative of their artwork thereby grant Tour Organizers permission to use and publish photographs and any information submitted for the restricted purposes of promoting the Tour in print and/or online. This includes the online Artist Directory and printed Tour Guide/Map.
Artist Packet: The Artist shall pick up their Informational Packet and signage by November 7th, 2025. This packet will contain name tags, signage, and marketing/tour materials.
Exhibition: The Artist will have the opportunity to enter one piece into the 2025 New Bern Artist Studio Tour Showcase at Bank of the Arts. All artists entering a work into the exhibition will adhere to Craven Arts Council & Gallery’s General Exhibition Terms and Conditions, found at www.cravenarts.org/tc, as well as the Supplementary Terms and Conditions for the exhibition. These Terms and Conditions and dates for the exhibition will be provided to the artist within 30 days of registration. A brief summary of some Terms and Conditions are below:
*All work must be no more than 30” in and dimension
*Artworks will be listed for sale with a 60/40 split, in the Artists’ favor. Artist may list work as Not for Sale
*All Artwork will be at Bank of the Art for the duration of the exhibition. Artist may not engage in private sale of the artwork until after the exhibition.
Liability Insurance: New Bern Artist Studio Tour organizers & Craven Arts Council & Gallery provide no liability insurance coverage to participants of the Tour. It is the responsibility of participating artists to insure themselves, their premises and their artwork against lawsuit, theft, damage and other potential circumstances. The Tour Organizers strongly recommend that you check with your insurance agent regarding coverage.
Promotion. There is no guarantee of attendance at the Tour, and Tour organizers are not responsible for the results of an artist’s participation. Each artists agrees to engage actively in promoting the Tour, through activities such as sharing information about the Tour on social media, inviting friends and contacts to the Tour, and posting printed promotional material. All artists are required to display provided lawn signs during the Tour.
Tour Cancellation. Tour will proceed in the event of rainy weather. Circumstances out of the control of the Tour Organizers, such as acts of God, may force the event to be cancelled, in which case artists will not be compensated in any way.
Agreement to Release Assumption of Risk: Participating artists are aware that there are inherent risks involved in participating in the New Bern Artist Studio Tour, including, but not limited to, the risk of theft or of damage to property, and the risk of personal injury or illness. Tour Organizers & CACG are not responsible for theft, property damage, personal injury or illness of any participating artist.
Agreement to Hold Harmless: In consideration of being granted permission to participate in this Tour, I, on behalf of myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, and successors, hereby covenant to hold harmless and indemnify the organizers of New Bern Artist Studio Tour (Tour Organizers) and all of its officers, departments, agencies, agents and employees from any and all claims, losses, damages, injuries, fines, penalties, and costs (including court costs and attorney’s fees), charges, liabilities, or exposures, however caused, resulting from, arising out of, or in any way connected to my or my family’s participation in the above described program.
By submitting registration, I as a Tour artist agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Tour Organizers for any lack of attendance and any and all liabilities, claims, errors, omissions, losses, accidents and expenses caused by, arising out of, or in connection with, either directly or indirectly, the New Bern Artists Studio Tour events.
Failure to Comply: The Artist understands that failure to adhere to the Terms and Conditions may result in the following:
*Removal of information and location from the 2025 New Bern Artist Studio Tour.
*Prohibition from participation in the 2026 and/or following New Bern Artist Studio Tours.
