Susan Cheatham
Susan Cheatham is a Plein Air Artist who paints in the outdoors up close and friendly painting what is in front of her. She mostly paints landscapes but she also dives into abstracts occasionally. Susan especially loves painting natural scenes of her local areas and being able to see all the nuances of light a camera cannot pick up through the lens. The artist is the originator of CCPAP, Coastal Carolina Plein Air Painters which this year is celebrating 20 years painting outside every Tuesday of the year except in Winter. Susan now has 70 members. Susan has also has been a member of CAGS Gallery for the last 8 years. In a previous lifetime Susan was a Landscape Designer in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill designing commercial as well as residential landscapes. She has a degree in Landscape Architecture from NCSU. Susan also curated the White garden at the JC Ralston Arboretum for 5 years.
